Wilfred Knox
Wilfred Knox (1887-1950) was by no means the least distinguished of the four brilliant sons of Bishop Knox of Manchester.
He is remembered, and will be remembered for many years to come as a priest of the Oratory of the Good Shepherd at Cambridge, whose wit, humility, and personal devotion exercised a decisive influence upon many generations of undergraduates; and as a theologian, whose wide and tireless reading, sound sense of history, and lively insight, placed his Cambridge University colleagues in a continual debt to him. So many people wanted to attend his memorial service that there had to be a ballot for tickets.
