Laurence Whistler
Laurence Whistler was born in 1912.
He is perhaps best known today for his glass engraving, but was also a renowned poet and the author of many books, including The English Festivals and The Initials in The Heart, both now re-published by Dean Street Press.
In 1974 he was awarded the C.B.E. and in 2000, shortly before his death, a knighthood.
